Fullers Logistics is pleased to announce that it has received a Gold Award from BMW Group UK for achieving an overall service & performance score of 99.93% in 2017 for their Dealer Metro Distribution Centre (DMDC) that it operates on behalf of the automotive manufacturer in Slough, Berkshire.
The DMDC is a dedicated warehouse solution developed and managed by Fullers Logistics for the receipt, put-away, pick/pack and same day dispatch of up to 1,500 lines per day of automotive components and fast moving service parts, supporting the BMW and MINI retailers based in the South of England and South Wales.
This is the fourth consecutive year that Fullers Logistics has received Gold Awards from BMW Group UK. “We are measured across a range of operational elements throughout the year including quality, stock management, pick accuracy and on-time delivery,” explains Tony Dempsey, Divisional Managing Director at Fullers Logistics. “Gold awards are bestowed for achieving a minimum of 99.80% accuracy across these areas and we are delighted to have exceeded this goal for the fourth consecutive year, continuing to be the UK’s leading DMDC service provider”.
The DMDC enables BMW & MINI retailers to place parts orders and receive multiple deliveries on a same day service, with some retailers receiving up to three deliveries a day. In 2015 the operation was enhanced further by the introduction of a Saturday service. Last June BMW extended Fullers’ contract to deliver the service for a further five years to 2022.
“We regularly and proactively evaluate all aspects of the service that we provide at the DMDC to identify areas where we can increase efficiency, ensure accuracy and improve productivity. I am pleased that our continual focus is paying dividends and am confident that it will allow us to continue delivering an outstanding level of service to BMW Group UK for years to come,” concludes Dempsey.
