How Fullers continues to use our business for good

Fullers Fulfilment

By 2030, The UN aims to create peace, wellbeing and prosperity for people and the planet. That’s why they’ve set up 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Fullers Fulfilment is proud to be part of the B1G1 (Buy One, Give One) initiative run by Business for Good, which allows us to support causes that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

On a regular basis, Fullers Fulfilment gives to international causes that supply food, shelter, healthcare and education to people in need, help tackle human rights issues, protect the environment and improve animal welfare.

We choose to run our fulfilment business in a meaningful way

Often, the causes we support have a link with the ecommerce sectors we serve, such as food, health care, fashion, and pet care. They also align with our company culture and values.

Clients feel better knowing that their fulfilment partnership with Fullers delivers fulfilment excellence for their business – whilst making a difference in the wider world as well.

So far, Fullers has contributed to over 4,000 impacts including solar lighting for rural communities in India, beach cleans in Bali, and entrepreneurship programmes in Africa.

Accreditations demonstrate our commitment to doing good

Along with our EcoVadis accreditation and our ISO 14001 certification, B1G1 demonstrates our commitment to doing business in a way that respects people and planet. ISO 14001 is the world's most recognised environmental management system, helping businesses demonstrate a commitment to reducing their impact on the earth.

EcoVadis is an internationally renowned and trusted business sustainability rating, involving annual assessment and scoring of our performance against environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement criteria.

Inspirational generosity

B1G1 is such a powerful ongoing initiative, so we we’re always keen to share regular updates about Fullers’ actions and the difference they’ve made. Our hope is that it will inspire other businesses to become part of something bigger than just profit.

Providing musical instruments & education to deprived areas and disadvantaged children

Conn-Selmer is a manufacturer of musical instruments for concert bands, marching bands and orchestras – and a long-standing client of Fullers Fulfilment. The musical instruments we store, pick and pack for Conn-Selmer bring joy to musicians of all ages.

Did you know that music can stimulate the body’s natural feel-good chemicals (e.g. endorphins, oxytocin)? It can help manage stress, express feelings, enhance memory, improve communication, promote wellness, promote physical rehabilitation, and even alleviate pain.

Every young musician deserves to realise their potential and benefit from the wellbeing that playing music brings. Yet, state schools in England have seen a 21% decrease in music provision over the last five years. One in five primary school teachers report there is no regular music lesson for their class and only 12% of schools in deprived areas have an orchestra.

Via Music For All, Fullers recently contributed over 250 days of access to musical education and musical instruments to deprived areas and for disadvantaged children.

Improving the livelihoods of women in Malawi

Here at Fullers, we champion a culture of gender equity – and of empowerment. As the words of some of our female team members show, there’s a positive ‘can-do’ atmosphere that unlocks all our employees’ greatest potential, without gender bias.

Gender should never be an obstacle to career success. That’s why we’ve been supporting impoverished women in Malawi by providing a one-day business training course.

By having access to the course, women who are establishing their own businesses will gain critical financial literacy skills. The result is that they will be better able to support their families.

Helping build sustainable businesses in Bolivia

Our client portfolio is always growing, featuring new and exciting ecommerce SMEs across a range of sectors. It’s a thrill for us to see these businesses grow with us – some of which become household names.

Every business owner we work with started their journey as an entrepreneur with an idea and driven by talent, they turned it into a thriving business.

Bolivia has a population of 10 million, with about 4 million living below the national poverty line. Not all Bolivians are able to achieve their desired business goals because of their economically disadvantaged circumstances.

Five Talents, along with community partners, supports entrepreneurs in Bolivia by forming savings groups to help them build their own businesses. They are also provided with business skills training and access to financial services.

Through B1G1, Fullers has been able to support Bolivians with the early stages of sustainable business growth.
