Rising stars at Fullers Fulfilment: Monika Kocur, Warehouse Operative
Here at Fullers Fulfilment, we love to see people succeed. That includes ecommerce businesses from a wide range of sectors – and our employees too. Ours is a culture of empowerment.
There’s a positive ‘can-do’ atmosphere that identifies people’s unique strengths, nurturing them in way that unlocks their greatest potential.
By celebrating achievement, we recognise the talent and hard work of our team members – and hopefully inspire others to create their own story of success in the fulfilment and logistics industry. It’s a growth sector with so much opportunity for those seeking an exciting career path.
Monika Kocur is a Warehouse Operative at our multi-channel fulfilment centre in Slough, Berkshire – and one of Fullers’ brightest rising stars. Here’s why…
Ready for whatever comes her way
No two days are the same on the warehouse floor – and that’s one of the reasons Monika enjoys her Warehouse Operative job so much.
Her to-do list features a rich variety of tasks, including accepting and unloading goods in, packing parcels, loading and dispatching orders to go out same day for next day delivery, stock management and updating the WMS (Warehouse Management System) to give Fullers customers vital real-time visibility of movement on their account.
Next level skills, driven by efficiency
As skilled multi-tasker, the variety of warehouse operative duties suits Monika’s adaptable nature down to the ground…or should that be OFF the ground?
You see, when the opportunity to get her forklift truck driving license arose, Monika grabbed it with both hands. She had worked with Fullers for two years leading up to that point, always looking for ways to optimise our fulfilment timescales.
Rather than having to wait for other warehouse operatives to become available to move pallets, she wanted to be able to do that herself – so she went ahead and made it happen. Impressive initiative, or what?
The queen of detail
Accuracy is everything in fulfilment. Knowing that Fullers’ stellar reputation of many decades depends upon attention to detail, Monika handles every order with care and precision.
Her client portfolio includes just as many delicate items as those that demand heavy lifting. Whether it’s Ayuvedic hair oil from Fable & Mane, dainty earrings and headbands from Evelyn and Rose, or premium candles from Victoria Cator, Monika tends to each order with diligence.
Often, that means personalisation in the form of handwritten notes and gift-wrapping items with specific branded packaging that we’ve developed in collaboration with the client.
Always there to support Fullers’ clients and teammates
Pardon the pun, but the fulfilment service we provide to our clients is never “off the shelf”. Everyone is different, one size doesn’t fit all. We take the time to understand the specific needs and preferences of all the ecommerce businesses we work with.
A brilliant communicator, Monika regularly speaks with customers. She listens carefully to what’s expected and finds ways not just to deliver on those expectations - but to exceed them. Technology is one of our greatest assets when it comes to achieving highly efficient, fast-moving fulfilment - and Monika knows how to use the WMS to get first-rate results and valuable business insights.
Warehouse tours are an important part of our onboarding process and demonstrate our friendly, personalised service. Fullers has fulfilment centres in Bordon, Hampshire and Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, as well as Slough.
Monika shows off our Slough facilities in an informative and reassuring way – two characteristics that also make her a wonderful mentor to new warehouse staff as they settle into their careers at Fullers – one day to become rising stars themselves.
Is there a bright future in fulfilment for you too?
“Since I came to the UK 10 years ago, I have worked in the hospitality and cleaning sectors, but it’s fulfilment and logistics where I have truly found my passion and where I’ve been given the opportunity to learn and grow. The team is so friendly and encouraging and I love all the different aspects of my job and getting to work with household brands such as Mars Petcare.
“There are plenty of routes to progress within Fullers and I aspire to continue my training so that I can become a team leader,” says Monika.
Indeed, there are many exciting developments happening in the world of fulfilment and logistics right now. If you’re a self-starter who loves to be on their feet, traditional warehouse roles continue to evolve and offer plenty of variety and career potential, as Monika’s story shows.
More of a technical whizz? The widespread integration of IoT, smart warehousing and AI tools could make ecommerce fulfilment analytics a potential career avenue for you to take. Higher education courses in supply chain management will appeal to strategic minds. There are lots of office-based roles in fulfilment as well as warehouse operative roles.
Forget any perceptions that fulfilment is a “job for the boys” and that there aren’t many women in logistics. Women now occupy 41% of the supply chain workforce, up from 35% in 2016. That includes 33% of first line manager and supervisory roles.
Fullers Fulfilment is recruiting for bright talent with a can-do attitude to join our growing ecommerce fulfilment business. Looking for a career in logistics and want to become part of our team? Visit our Join Us page or contact us to find out more.
